Terms of service

1. The service

Sentimental Path (“we”, “us”) provides a web-based tool at sentimentalpath.com (the “service”) that turns text conversations, messages and photos you supply into a downloadable digital keepsake book (a PDF). The service is digital only: we do not print or ship physical books. The service runs inside your web browser. Your content is processed and stored on your device and is not uploaded to us; see our privacy policy.

By using the service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to make a purchase. The service is not intended for children under 13. If you use the service on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you have their permission to do so.

3. Your content and your rights

You own the conversations, photos, text and other material you bring to the service (“your content”). We claim no ownership of it, and because it never leaves your device we do not need a license to it.

By using the service, you confirm that:

• you have the right to use your content, including any messages written by other people and any photos taken by other people, for the purpose of making a personal keepsake book;
• your content does not include any material described in section 4;
• you will not use the service to infringe anyone’s rights, including their privacy, or to harass, defame or harm anyone.

Conversations involve other people. It is your responsibility to consider whether the people in them would object to being included in a book, and to respect any law that applies to you.

4. Content safety rules

The following material may not be included in a book and is blocked by the builder:

• sexual content involving minors, in any form;
• illegal sexual content;
• exploitative or non-consensual sexual material.

Because this is a family-safe product, the following is also excluded:

• explicit adult sexual imagery;
• highly explicit sexting.

Ordinary affection, family conversations, medical discussions, relationship memories and other sensitive but lawful topics are not blocked. The check runs on your device before a book is generated; flagged items are identified with a reason so you can remove them. Automated checks are not perfect. You are responsible for your content, and you certify at checkout that it complies with this section. We may refuse service to anyone who attempts to circumvent these rules. 5. Purchases

• Price. Each finished volume costs $19.99, in US dollars, paid once. There is no subscription, no membership and no account.
• How volumes are counted. One volume holds up to 10,000 messages, 250 photos, 500 MB of imported material, or 500 finished pages, whichever is reached first. Content beyond those limits requires additional volumes, each at the same price.
• Price shown before checkout. Before you pay, the builder shows the number of volumes your selection needs, the price per volume, and the total. You may reduce the number of volumes by trimming, removing or splitting content, or by purchasing only some volumes.
• No surprise charges. The amount shown at checkout is the amount you pay. If our page estimate was wrong and the book needs more room than we said, we fit it anyway at no extra charge. You will never be charged more after checkout.
• Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe under its own terms. Taxes, where applicable, are shown at checkout.
• Price changes. We may change the price for future purchases. A change never affects a purchase you have already made.

6. Delivery

After payment, your book is generated on your device and downloaded there as a PDF. Delivery is digital only; nothing is mailed. We do not receive, store or back up the finished book. Please keep your copy safe and back it up. If you delete your working copy and your downloaded PDF, we cannot reproduce the book for you. As long as the working copy remains on your device, you may regenerate and download the volumes you paid for.

7. Refunds

Because Sentimental Path creates a customized digital product for immediate download, all purchases are final and non-refundable.

If you have trouble generating or downloading your book, contact us at sentimentalpath@gmail.com. We will work with you to make sure you receive the digital book you purchased.

If a verified technical issue on our side prevents us from delivering your book and we are unable to resolve it, we may issue a refund at our discretion.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service for anything unlawful, or to include material prohibited by section 4;
• attempt to bypass, disable or interfere with the content safety check or any other part of the service;
• probe, scan or attack the site, or attempt to gain access to systems that are not yours;
• resell the service, or use it to produce books for sale without our written permission;
• misrepresent who you are or whose content you are using.

We may suspend or refuse service to anyone who breaks these terms.

9. Our materials

The site, the builder, the cover templates, the interior designs and the Sentimental Path name and mark belong to us or our licensors. You may use the templates and designs to make books for personal use. You may not copy or redistribute the site or the builder itself.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do our best to make it reliable and accurate, but we do not promise that it will be free of errors or interruptions, that every export format will import perfectly, or that the content safety check will catch everything. Page estimates are estimates.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, including loss of your working copy or your downloaded book. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always at sentimentalpath.com/terms with its effective date. Changes apply to purchases made after the new effective date; they do not change the terms of a purchase you have already made.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [State], United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that state, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
